Monument is located outside of Vicksburg National Military Park on former park property in the City of Vicksburg, on Hall's Ferry Road at (north) Illinois Circle midway between Interstate 20 and Confederate Avenue. Also a marker located 350' from Hall's Ferry Road, between the Georgia Salient Work and John Allen Street, designating a sharpshooter's line. This unit was attached to Col. Cyrus Hall's 2nd Brigade of Brig. Gen. Jacob G. Lauman's 4th Division, Maj. Gen. Cadwallader C. Washburn's XVI Army Corps (Detachment) and was commanded by Lt. Col. William Camm (captured 22 June 1863) & Capt. Augustus H. Cornman. The regiment lost 4 enlisted men killed, 5 enlisted men wounded, 1 officer & 5 enlisted men captured for a total of 15 casualties.
