News Release
HONOLULU – Beginning Monday, Sept. 8, advanced reservations to the USS Arizona Memorial will once again be available for tours to the memorial that take place on Saturday, Nov. 1 and beyond.
The reopening of reservations comes as the U.S. Navy is expected to complete removal of the historic World War II salvage platforms in September and October.
The National Park Service cares for special places saved by the American people so that all may experience our heritage. “This is a critical project that will temporarily impact boat operations. and with winter break and the holiday travel season approaching, we want to ensure visitors have the opportunity to get their tickets early,” said Tom Leatherman, superintendent of Pearl Harbor National Memorial. “Visitors can make reservations via Recreation.gov. They are also encouraged to check out the park website before their visit at http://www.nps.gov/pearlharbor.
As soon as boat operations can be performed safely, same-day, walk-in, first-come, first-served tours will also resume. It is also expected that day-before reservations will become available on Recreation.gov again sometime prior to Nov. 1. Other reservation opportunities, such as the Ford Island Bus Tour, remain available through Recreation.gov and are not being impacted by this project.
Entry to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center grounds, museums, and park film remains free and does not require reservations. Visitors can also enjoy experiences such as the Pacific Historic Parks Audio Tour, VR Center, the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, and the Battleship Missouri Memorial for a fee.
