The CWA was a federal relief program during the Great Depression. The CWA employed women to clean artifacts and reconstruct pottery during the excavation of the pueblo at Tuzigoot. More than 150 pottery vessels were reconstructed in total. These tasks were not glamorous, but were important to helping archeologists learn about the Sinagua culture. Without the hard work of these women, we would not know as much about Sinagua life and craftsmanship as we do today. The results of their hard work can still be found in the Tuzigoot museum.
