Tumacácori National Historical Park and the Consulate General of Mexico invite all visitors to a free concert at 1:30 p.m. on May 24th, 2014 held within the historic adobe walls of Mission San José de Tumacácori. "We're delighted to host this talented musician and celebrate our shared heritage with Mexico," said Superintendent Bob Love. Other supporters of the concert include the Esplendor Resort of Rio Rico, the Nogales International, and the Cultural Arts Committee of Nogales, Arizona. Featured Mexican accordionist, Antonio Barberena, has performed all over the world including Venezuela, Switzerland, Chile, Spain, Argentina, and many locations in the United States. He will perform a selection of viceregal and classical music in the sanctuary of Tumacácori's church. Seating is limited to one hundred listeners and although the concert is free, the park's normal entrance fee of $3 per adult applies. Federal pass holders and children under age 16 are admitted to the park free of charge always. |
