Continuing a popular collaboration which has quickly become a tradition, the Mexican Consulate in Nogales and the National Park Service will once again co-sponsor a concert at Tumacácori National Historical Park. Soprano Marybel Ferrales will perform a concert of classical music inside the historic mission church at 3:00 p.m.on Saturday, September 24. Originally from Cabaiguán, Cuba, Ms. Ferrales has been the Choir director at the University of Sonora in Hermosillo, Sonora since 2000. In 2015, she was awarded the "Maestro Sonorense" Award at the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado International Music Festival in Álamos, Sonora. Accompanying her will be tenor Jorge Espinoza and pianist Hector Acosta. There is no charge for the concert, and entrance to all national parks is free on that day in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Please keep in mind that there is no air conditioning in the open structure and seating is limited;dress appropriately for the day's weather, and come early.
