There is so much to see and discover within a few square miles along Richmond Highway (US Route 1). Take a morning to tour Woodlawn Manor, the home of Martha Custis Washington's daughter and husband, Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian Pope-Leighey house, and spend the afternoon watching demonstrations at George Washington's fully functional gristmill and distillery. Spend the next day touring the vast grounds of Mount Vernon Estate, and an optional third day paddling the Potomac along Piscataway Park in Maryland, to view George Washington's home from afar.
