Your Fee Dollars at Work

Proceeds from individual entry fees, pass sales, and donations are used for conserving our national public lands. This revenue also helps maintain, develop, and improve visitor services and recreational opportunities.

 

Entrance Fees and Recreational Passes

Entrance Fees

Tonto National Monument Individual Pass - $10.00 per person (U.S. Dollars)
Individual passes are valid for 7 days after date of purchase and are non-transferable. Children 15 years old and under are free. All Interagency Passes are accepted. Passes are valid only when the pass owner is present.

Fee Free Days

All National Park Service sites will waive entrance fees on the following days in 2021:

  • January 18: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

  • April 17: First Day of National Park Week

  • August 4: One year anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act

  • August 25: National Park Service Anniversary

  • September 25: National Public Lands Day

  • November 11: Veterans Day

Commercial Tours

Tour groups are charged the same fees as individuals ($10.00 per person, 16 years of age and older). Individuals may use Interagency Passes.

Permits

For some activities at Tonto National Monument, a Special Use Permit is required. These activities include commercial filming or photography, commercial events, etc. Please follow the link to read more or contact us via phone or email.

Educational Trips

School groups may apply for an Educational Fee Waiver. This must be done in advance of your visit to Tonto. Please visit the Education page for more information.

 

America The Beautiful

National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Passes

Passes are only available at Tonto National Monument when the Lower Cliff Dwelling Trail is open and fees are being collected.

2021 Annual Pass

Annual Pass - $80.00 (U.S. Dollars)

This pass is available to the general public and provides access to, and use of, federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee. It is valid for one year beginning from the date of sale.

This pass admits the pass holder plus three adults at Tonto National Monument and other per person fee areas. At per vehicle fee areas, it admits the pass holder and all passengers in one non-commercial vehicle. The pass can be obtained in person at the Monument, or online at USGS - America the Beautiful Annual Pass.

2021 Annual Senior Pass

Annual Senior Pass - $20.00 (U.S. Dollars)

This is an annual pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over. The pass provides access to, and use of, federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standrard Amenity Fee.

This pass admits the pass holder plus three adults at Tonto National Monument and other per person fee areas. At per vehicle fee areas, it admits the pass holder and all passengers in one non-commercial vehicle. The pass can be obtained in person at the Monument or online at USGS - American the Beautiful Senior Pass.

Lifetime Senior Pass

Lifetime Senior Pass - $80.00 (U.S. Dollars)

This is a lifetime pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over. The pass provides access to, and use of, federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee.

This pass admits the pass holder plus three adults at Tonto National Monument and other per person fee areas. At per vehicle fee areas, it admits the pass holder and all passengers in one non-commercial vehicle. The pass can be obtained in person at the Monument, or online at USGS - America the Beautiful Senior Pass.

Lifetime Access Pass

Lifetime Access Pass - Free

This is a lifetime pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities. The pass provides access to, and use of, federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee.

Documentation is required to obtain this pass. Acceptable documentation includes: statement by a licensed physician, document issued by a federal agency such as the Veteran's Administration, Social Security Disability Income or Supplemental Security Income, or documentation issued by a state agency such as a vocational rehabilitation agency. This pass admits the pass holder plus three adults at Tonto National Monument and other per person fee areas. At per vehicle fee areas, it admits the pass holder and all passengers in one non-commercial vehicle. The pass can be obtained in person at the Monument, or online at USGS - America the Beautiful Access Pass.

2021 Military Pass

Annual Military Pass - Free

This free pass is designed for active duty military personnel and their dependents. As gratitude for your services, this pass will grant Active Duty Military access to, and use of, federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee.

This pass admits the pass holder plus three adults at Tonto National Monument and other per person fee areas. At per vehicle fee areas, it admits the pass holder and all passengers in one non-commercial vehicle. The pass can be obtained in person at the Monument.

2020-2021 Annual 4th Grade Pass

Annual 4th Grade Pass - Free

Available to U.S. 4th graders (including home-schooled and free-choice learners 10 years of age) with a valid Every Kid Outdoors paper voucher. This pass is valid for the duration of the 4th grade school year through the following summer (September 1- August 31).

Paper vouchers can be obtained by visiting the Every Kid Outdoors Website and exchanged for the Annual 4th Grade pass at federal recreation sites that charge Entrance or Standard Amenity Fees. This pass is non-transferable. Educators can also acquire paper vouchers for their students. Learn more at the Every Kid Outdoors Website.
