Thaddeus Kosciusko found many ways to pass the time while recovering from his wounds, like playing chess, drawing in his sketch book, and visiting with friends.

Admission is free. The site is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12noon - 4pm, from April through October. It is usually closed from November through March. Please check the operating hours for more information.

Due to the site's limited hours, visitors are advised to phone the Independence Visitor Center at the above number. Rangers at the visitor center (open 7 days a week) can answer questions and provide information about the Thaddeus Kosciuszko National Memorial
