What better setting for giving back to your community? There are volunteer opportunities on the island for history nerds and nature nerds, sociable types and solitary types, hands in search of dirt, senses attuned to beauty, and minds in search of meaty ideas.

Safari Tour Volunteer:
Help share the beauty and history of the island by guiding interpretive walking tours through the entirety of Theodore Roosevelt Island to the public, while providing natural, historical, and cultural information. Learn more and apply here.

Weed Warrior:

Take an active role to assist the NPS in its mission to preserve and protect both cultural and natural resources. Develop knowledge and skills to use necessary for the protection of the natural environment. Learn how to identify and control non-native invasive plants. Learn more and apply here.
