Become a Weir Farm Junior Ranger
Weir Farm National Historical Park is a fun place for kids to explore and learn! Complete one of the following activities during your next visit to the park to earn a Junior Ranger badge. Complete more than one to earn a special Junior Ranger patch. Junior Ranger activities can be picked up at the Burlingham House Visitor Center Front Desk, in season, or on the Burlingham House Visitor Center porch when visitor center is closed.

Weir Pond Wonders:
Follow the stops on a hike to Weir Pond and discover the natural and man-made treasures along the way… if you look very closely. Explore Weir Pond with our Scavenger Hunt Activity.

Let's Go Letterboxing:
Use clues to navigate the landscape and locate five hidden containers, or letterboxes, which contain stamps. This Junior Ranger activity can only be picked up at the Burlingham House Visitor Center Front Desk.

Art Bear Scavenger Hunt:
Roam the Park to find eight Art Bears - each one featuring a detail of a contemporary painting of a site at Weir Farm National Historical Park.
Virtual Junior Ranger Program
Become a Weir Farm NHP Junior Ranger from home! Once you complete the website scavenger hunt, take the Junior Ranger Pledge online with Ranger Amanda and become an official Weir Farm NHP Junior Ranger!
You are welcome to walk your dog on a leash at Weir Farm National Historical Park, the Weir Preserve and the Nod Hill Refuge, the 110-acre network of hiking trails directly adjacent to the property. However, dogs are not allowed inside the Burlingham House Visitor Center. There is a pet waste station located near the parking lot entrance, please pick up after your pets.
Parking is limited!
Carpooling is encouraged and appreciated, and groups arriving in more than two cars must call ahead to make a reservation. If you plan to visit the park with a group arriving in more than two cars, please call ahead to make program and parking arrangements: 203-834-1896.
The Explore, Letterboxing, Weir Pond Wonders, and Art Bear Scavenger Hunt Junior Ranger Activities are printed booklets. At this time there are no screen-reader friendly digital equivalent available.
The Junior Ranger activities are not ADA accessible for wheelchairs.
