Thing to Do
Learn from a Ranger

NPS
Timucuan Preserve included two staffed sites where you can always find a ranger to answer questions. Fort Caroline National Memorial hosts the main visitor center for Timucuan Preserve and Kingsley Plantation has a visitor contact station where rangers are ready to talk.
Other unstaffed sites such as Theodore Roosevelt Area, Cedar Point, and American Beach are patrolled by rangers who may be available to give directions and information but this is an on-going and unscheduled chance to engage with park staff.
To be sure to connect with a ranger, visit the park calendar for the most up to date listings of programs, events, and ranger-led hikes. Rangers and volunteers also present pop-up programs at Fort Caroline and Kingsley Plantation. Pop-up programs are informal chances to talk with a ranger or volunteer on topics ranging from spinning seas island cotton, to bird adaptations, to Timucua technology. These programs are presented whenever the park is busy and staffing allows.
Educational field trips led by park rangers are also available to learn more visit our Education page.
