Drive the South Unit Scenic Drive

The South Unit scenic drive is the gateway to adventure at the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. This 24-mile, out-and-back drive provides access to incredible vistas, wildlife viewing, challenging hikes, and more. More than 46,000 acres are yours to explore, just by driving into the park!

Pets are welcome in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. However, they are only allowed in certain areas.
Leashed pets may be walked along roads and road shoulders, sidewalks, parking areas, and in campgrounds and picnic areas.

In the winter, sections of the road may be closed due to snowy or icy conditions. Contact the park ahead of time to check road status.

Accessibility Information
The scenic drive is a two-lane, paved road. Accessible parking is available at most paved parking lots and pull-outs. There are two accessible trails available: Skyline Vista and Boicourt Overlook. Service animals are allowed, but must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
