Thing to Do
Become a Point Reyes Junior Ranger!
Are you excited about exploring, protecting and learning about Point Reyes National Seashore? If so, become a Junior Ranger!
Pick up a Junior Ranger activity booklet at one of the park's visitor centers and complete the section of the booklet that corresponds with your age. You’ll get to explore the history of the Coast Miwok people who call this area home, do fun activities to learn about the park’s marine life (like elephant seals and gray whales) and so much more! When finished, return to one of the visitor centers to get sworn in and receive your official Junior Ranger badge.
Don't have enough time to finish the book while you are in the park? No problem! Send your book to the following address when you complete it:
Bear Valley Visitor Center
Point Reyes National Seashore
1 Bear Valley Road
Point Reyes Station, CA, 94956.
A ranger will check your work and mail the book back to you with a badge!
Know where you can and can't go when visiting with your pet. Please keep in mind that certain areas suggested in the Junior Ranger booklet are not open to pets, and plan accordingly. With the exception of ADA service animals, pets are not allowed inside the visitor centers.
Check the park's accessibility guide (814 KB PDF) for more information on accessible areas in Point Reyes National Park. Not all areas suggested in the Junior Ranger booklet are accessible, but it gives users a variety of options and it isn't required that you visit all of them.
