Attending a ranger-led program in the park is a great way to discover new things and learn more about the Mammoth Cave National Park. The park offers a variety of ranger-led programs such as guided cave tours and programs on the surface like talks, walks, and junior ranger activities. All surface programs are offered free of charge, however, there is a fee for cave tours. Be sure to check the current program and event schedule for the dates of your visit to the park to see what programs are available or stop in the visitor center to talk a look at the schedule of programs offered that day.
Full descriptions and schedules of the ranger-led programs offered in the park can be found on the park website.
A variety of ranger-led programs on the surface of the park are offered throughout the year. These include short talks, walks and hikes, junior ranger activities, evening programs, and astronomy programs.
Owners must keep pets on leashes no longer than 6 feet and clean up after their pets.
Most ranger-led programs on the surface start at, or are a short walk from, the Mammoth Cave Visitor Center.
Most of the ranger-led programs on the surface, such as talks and evening programs, are fully wheelchair accessible. Some ranger-led walks and hikes take place on rough dirt trails, persons with mobility issues may require assistance.
