The IMLS Grant application deadline is November 1, 2018. 

Program Overview:
Museum Grants for African American History and Culture support activities that build the capacity of African American museums and support the growth and development of museum professionals at African American museums.

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include museums with a primary purpose and focus on African American life, art, history, and/or culture, encompassing: the period of slavery; the era of Reconstruction; the Harlem renaissance; the civil rights movement; and other periods of the African American diaspora. Museum applicants must also fulfill the IMLS general eligibility criteria for museums.

Nonprofit organizations whose primary purpose is to support museums identified above may also apply. Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCUs) are also eligible. Please see program guidelines for specific eligibility criteria.
