The Florida Underground Railroad Project (FURP) is dedicated to educating the public concerning the lives of enslaved people and their quest for basic human rights. FURP goals are: *Create programs that will expose and inform youth about the UGRR; *Raise and maintain public awareness about the lives of freedom seekers as it relates to the UGRR; *Encourage sharing local histories as well as commemorating UGRR sites and landscapes in which their histories were enacted; *Initiate interpretation strategies regarding documented UGRR sites, stories, and freedom seekers.
