The National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program (NTF) is pleased to announce that there is $235,000 in grant funds available this year. In collaboration with the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), the NTF will be offering competitive grants ranging between $1000 and $20,000. Funds can be used for preservation and restoration of buildings associated with the Underground Railroad (UGRR) and for interpretation and historical research related to Network to Freedom members. Only Network to Freedom sites, programs, and facilities are eligible to apply.
Preference will be given to those listings that have not previously received Network to Freedom grants and to those with matching funds.
The application and instructions are available by clicking here.
The deadline for turning in applications is now October 31, 2017.
