FY 2017 NATIONAL UNDERGROUND RAILROAD NETWORK TO FREEDOM GRANTS
The National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program (NTF) is pleased to announce that there is $235,000 in grant funds available this year. In collaboration with the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), the NTF will be offering competitive grants ranging between $1000 and $20,000. Funds can be used for preservation and restoration of buildings associated with the Underground Railroad (UGRR) and for interpretation and historical research related to Network to Freedom members. Only Network to Freedom sites, programs, and facilities are eligible to apply.
Preference will be given to those listings that have not previously received Network to Freedom grants and to those with matching funds.
The deadline for turning in applications is October 31, 2017.

*Note the requested letter of agreement should appear on the letterhead of the potential grantee and include the following information: the grantee; the title of project; brief statement of the project purpose/description; amount requested; and a statement to the fact that understand and agree to the terms and conditions of the Network to Freedom Grant, and if awarded the requested funds will be used as described in the proposal, and the project will be completed by the required deadline.
