Did You Know?
Santa Barbara Island is home to three endemic subspecies of birds: the horned lark, the orange-crowned warbler, and the house finch. It used to also be the home of the endemic Santa Barbara Island song sparrow, but unfortunately this small bird went extinct after nonnative animals destroyed its habitat.
