GAOA News and Stories

The Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) signed into law on August 4, 2020, is landmark legislation for public lands impacting communities across the country. GAOA provides funding for improvements to infrastructure in national parks through the National Parks and Public Lands Legacy Restoration Fund increasing opportunities for people to enjoy their parks. It also permanently funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), which provides grants to federal, state, and local governments support managing natural, cultural, and recreational resources.
