Springfield Armory hosts photography exhibit

SPRINGFIELD, Mass – Springfield Armory National Historic Site (NPS) is proud to host a photography exhibit; “Celebrating Our Nation’s Promise”, curated by the Putnam Vocational Technical Academy photography club and their instructor Denise Stewart. The exhibit will be on display at the Springfield Armory museum through May 7th.   

 
The exhibit, sponsored by the Mass Cultural Council, features local veterans and those currently serving in the military. Ms. Stewart described the essence and goal of the exhibit, “This exhibit celebrates the contributions, honors the legacies and achievements and highlights the joy, fellowship, commitment, and hope of our collective Springfield community”. 

 
As part of the show, there will be a Meet the Photographers event on Saturday, April 29th from 10:00 – 12:00, giving an opportunity to learn more about the composition and meaning behind the photos. The event is free and open to the public.  

 

ABOUT THE PARK: Springfield Armory National Historic Site is the location of the nation’s first armory (1794 – 1968) and was established by George Washington. The site includes historic grounds, buildings, and the world’s largest historic American military firearms collection.
