Our 7 Ways to Celebrate 50 begins tomorrow! You can celebrate from anywhere. Each day we have a different self-guided activity that you can do to join in the fun. Participate whenever, wherever, and however you’d like. The goal is to have fun and think about Sleeping Bear Dunes. Share your activities using #7WaystoCelebrate50 on social media. Thursday, Oct. 15
Create a work of art inspired by Sleeping Bear Dunes. Art can be a lot of things: a painting, drawing, poem, jewelry, story, song, dance, video, photo etc. Share what you create using #7WaystoCelebrate50

Friday, Oct. 16
Take an evening “flashlight” walk and compare the night versus the day. How is the place around you different? How is it the same? Then log into our Birthday Star Party hosted by the GTAS. Share the fun using #7WaystoCelebrate50.

Celebrate the dark skies of northern Michigan with GTAS. They have been a partner with the Lakeshore for star parties since our 40th anniversary. Enjoy a sunset or sunrise. How does the world around you sound, smell, look, or make you feel at these times of day? Share the fun using #7WaystoCelebrate50.
Tuesday, Oct. 20
Take a trip....down memory lane. Revisit old photos and memories from trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Haven’t had the chance to visit? Plan a trip using the Sleeping Bear Dunes website and mobileapp. Share your memories or future trip plans using #7WaystoCelebrate50.
Wednesday, Oct. 21
Join park staff at pop-up programs throughout the day on our anniversary. We will be sharing 50th anniversary activities as well as talking about park projects and what make Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore special. Park rangers can be found in popular areas of the park such as the Dune Climb, Glen Haven, Platte Point, and other possible locations.
