Permits & Reservations

Sitka National Historical Park issues permits for a variety of uses that may cause damage to natural and cultural resources or have a negative impact on park visitors. Examples of activities that require a permit include foot races, gatherings by schools or special groups, weddings, still photography and filming, scattering ashes, and gathering specimens or data for research purposes.

If you are not sure whether you need a permit for your planned activity, call 907-747-0110 for advice. A complete list of activities requiring a permit is in the Superintendent's Compendium.

Contact us early! Most permits can be processed within two weeks, but some commercial filming or photography permits may require thirty days for administrative review.
