Solicitation of a Concession Business Opportunity to Operate Pack Station, Guided Trail Rides, Other Services within Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are seeking proposals to provide pack station, guided trail rides, and other services from Cedar Grove Pack Station and Grant Grove Stables within Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The new concessioner will provide these services over a 10-year term. The existing contract that has been in place since January 1, 2019, concludes on December 31, 2026. The new contract will provide the same services as those offered under the current contract. 
 
Any proposal, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by 12:00 p.m. (Pacific) on February 19, 2026, to be evaluated and considered for award of the concession contract. Parties must provide their notice of intent to submit by 12:00 p.m. (Pacific) on January 29, 2026.  
 
Concession contracts enhance the visitor experience by providing hospitality services that federal agencies typically do not offer, while still advancing the National Park Service mission. Concession operations can also expand employment opportunities in the communities surrounding national parks. By welcoming the private sector as a partner in park operations, the NPS broadens the economic base of the region and the communities surrounding parks. The Commercial Services Program administers nearly 500 concession contracts that, in total, gross over $1 billion annually. NPS concessioners employ more than 25,000 people in a variety of jobs during peak seasons. 
 
All proposals from qualified offerors are evaluated using the same criteria to ensure a fair and competitive process in accordance with the National Park Service Concessions Improvement Act of 1998.
