A Deceased Individual Located in the Area of Mt. Darwin in Kings Canyon National Park

SEQUOIA AND KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARKS, California (November 7, 2019)–While conducting a ground search in the area along the route of Mt. Darwin, searchers located a deceased individual that matched the description of missing hiker Alan Stringer (40).

Mr. Stringer had been reported missing by family members on Monday, November 4. Inyo County and CHP had initiated the search. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks began search efforts on Wednesday. Aerial search efforts were underway and the ground team that found the individual was deployed on Thursday.

An investigation and recovery efforts are ongoing at this time. Please check Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park’s website at http://www.nps.gov/seki for updates.
