Gering, NE – With school back in session and summer staff back in class, Scotts Bluff National Monument will transition our operating hours for the Visitor Center and Summit Road.
- Monday, August 21st through Sunday, September 3rd:
- WEEKENDS (Saturdays and Sundays): the Monument Visitor Center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Summit Road will open to motorized vehicles at 9:00 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. All vehicles must be down by 6:00 p.m.
- WEEKDAYS (Monday through Friday): the Monument Visitor Center will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The Summit Road will open to motorized vehicles at 9:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m. All vehicles must be down and off the road by 4:30 p.m.
- Starting Monday, September 4th Scotts Bluff National Monument will operate under our Fall/Winter/Spring hours through late May 2024. This means that the Monument Visitor Center will be open everyday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The Summit Road will open to motorized vehicles (weather permitting) at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. All vehicles must be down off the road by 4:30 p.m.
Pedestrians and cyclists are permitted to use the Summit Road when it is closed to motorized vehicles. Park grounds and trails are accessible from sunrise to sunset.Scotts Bluff National Monument is open daily, except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
