Saguaro National Park Offers Astronomy Camp at Rincon Mountain District (East) For Ages 8 to 12 Years Old
Tucson, AZ--- “Look, up in the sky!” will be the word when junior rangers attend “Astronomy Camp” in the Rincon Mountain District (east) of Saguaro National Park East on Saturday, March 24. The new event, running from 3 to 9 PM that day will travel from earth orbit to the farthest reaches of space through indoor and outdoor activities and a hands-on telescope session when darkness falls.

Visitor Bitten by Fox in Saguaro National Park
Tucson, AZ – On Tuesday, February 13th, a visitor bicycling in Saguaro National Park along the Cactus Forest Loop Drive in the Rincon Mountain District, east of Tucson, was bitten by a fox.

Saguaro National Park Proposes Entrance Fee Increase
Tucson, AZ - Saguaro National Park is seeking public comments regarding a proposed increase in entrance fees and cost of the Saguaro National Park Annual Pass. If approved, this increase would go into effect on May 1, 2018 and would bring the park into alignment with the entry costs for other similar parks. This phased alignment process began in 2015.

Saguaro Vandalized
Tucson, AZ – Saguaro National Park is seeking the public’s assistance in connection with a vandalism incident. On Wednesday October 4, a park science crew working in the west district discovered a saguaro cactus which appeared to have been shot multiple times with a shot gun.

Possible Heat Related Visitor Fatality in Saguaro National Park
On the afternoon of Saturday, May 27, Bradley Hughes of Geneva, Illinois was found deceased on the Gould Mine Trail within the Tucson Mountain District (west) of Saguaro National Park. Cause of death is unknown, though the 34 year old male had an empty hydration bladder and no other water with him when he was found. Heat or dehydration may have been a factor.
