group of people with saguaro fruit gathering poles (kuipuds)

Program Details

This project, supported by the Friends of Saguaro National Park, serves to connect educators from tribal communities with the landscapes of Saguaro National Park. The sessions build a community of practice for tribal K-12 classroom teachers, college professors, and non-formal educators.

Project objectives:

  • Get to know teaching spaces at Saguaro National Park
  • Share ideas for engaging indigenous youth
  • Honor indigenous traditions, ecological knowledge, and ways of knowing
  • Build trust and community among educators

Although session content varies, participants can expect to share discussions, short hikes, activities, and storytelling.

Stipends, transportation support, and food provided.
