Contact: Lynn Cullivan, 415-561-7006 What: A concert of Irish music and songs featuring 3 acts: Shay Black, Amelia Hogan, and the traditional Irish music band The Jammy Dodgers. Shay Black, accompanying himself on guitar, is the elder brother of Ireland’s “first family of song,” The Black Family. Shay tours solo, and with members of his family. He was a member of the legendary Liverpool chantey group Stormalong John and the Irish band Garva, before settling in the Bay Area in the early 90’s. Amelia Hogan, singing unaccompanied, has for 30 years graced stages and enchanted audiences from Killarney to Seattle, and from San Francisco to New York. The Jammy Dodgers is a hot, new Irish band featuring flute, fiddle, concertina, banjo and guitar. They are quickly gaining a following for their exciting and innovative performances of jigs, reels, and Gaelic songs. ### 09-21-13 |
