2019 LINE-UP ANNOUNCED: 31st ANNUAL SEA MUSIC CONCERT SERIES ABOARD THE 1886 SAILING SHIP BALCLUTHA

What:    
A series of four concerts featuring sea chanteys and other seafaring songs.


When:    
Saturdays, August 17, September 21, October 26, and November 16, 2019, 8-10pm.


Where:   
Aboard the 1886 sailing ship Balclutha, Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco.


Cost:      
Donation, sliding scale: $20 to $10.

Join San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park for its 31st year of presenting sea music’s outstanding performers. On four San Francisco Bay evenings, enjoy the driving rhythms of working chanteys, and the beauty of seafaring ballads, from the deck of the 1886 full-rigged ship Balclutha. Geoff Kaufman
Saturday, August 17, 2019, 8pm-10pm, aboard Balclutha, Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco. Wheelchair accessible.
Geoff Kaufman, accompanying himself on concertina and guitar, brings a rich tenor voice and over 30 years of maritime performing experience. Dick and Carol Holdstock are the opening act.

Spitzer And Mareva
Saturday, September 21, 2019, 8pm-10pm, aboard Balclutha, Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco. Wheelchair accessible.
Spitzer and Mareva are a fierce vocal duo with a deep repertoire of chanteys and ballads.

Chris Maden
Saturday, October 26, 2019, 8pm-10pm, aboard Balclutha, Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco. Wheelchair accessible.
Hailing from Marlborough, Massachusetts and accompanying himself on concertina, Chris Maden is a working chanteyman on staff at the Mystic Seaport Museum, in Connecticut.

Brass Farthing
Saturday, November 16, 2019, 8pm-10pm, aboard Balclutha, Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco. Wheelchair accessible.
Brass Farthing is a 9-member singing group of stalwart lads brought together to perform traditional and contemporary maritime and drinking songs, and to spread good cheer.

Located at the west end of Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park includes a fleet of historic ships, Visitor Center, Maritime Museum, Maritime Research Center, and the Aquatic Park Historic District.
