Through preservation and interpretation of historic ships, extensive museum collections, traditional maritime skills, and its San Francisco Bay setting, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park brings America’s maritime legacy to life and promotes the understanding and enjoyment of the nation’s West Coast maritime heritage.

Each national park has specific local regulations established under the Superintendent's discretionary authority under Title 36 CFR. These regulations are compiled annually and available as Superintendent’s Compendium.

The park's Foundation Document details the guidance for park planning and management decisions, including descriptions of the park’s purpose, significance, fundamental resources and values, other important resources and values, and interpretive themes.

Permits and Event Rentals
