San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park’s collection is the oldest and largest maritime history collection in the western United States. It provides tangible and compelling links to maritime history and heritage and is one of the largest museum collections in the national park system.

The park holds extensive library, archival, small craft, and object collections. These Collections are preserved and made available for research by the park's Collections staff. The Maritime Research Center provides access to the library, archives and museum collections and encourages research in maritime history and humanities.
