Discovery Backpack

Check out a Discovery Backpack from one of the visitor centers filled with gear to explore the park. Each pack contains an activity booklet with seven activities to choose from, a pair of binoculars, field guides for wildflower, bird, butterfly, and mammal identification, a park map, compass, magnifying glass, pencils, and a journal to record observations.

You can earn a Junior Ranger badge with the Discovery Backpack by:

• Completing the activities in the Junior Ranger Booklet.

• Exploring the area around the visitor center.

• Learning observation skills.

• Participating in a life jacket activity (required for all Riverway Junior Rangers).

Backpacks are available to check out at both the St. Croix River Visitor Center and the Namekagon River Visitor Center.
