San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, Los Compadres, and USAA sponsor "Music Under the Stars" on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. on the grounds of Mission San José.  This annual concert, now in its 15th year, continues to grow in popularity every year. Mission San José provides a magnificent setting for a free musical evening. Pack your lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic and come enjoy a family "pops" concert at this San Antonio treasure known as the "Queen of the Missions." 

A variety of musical selections appealing to the whole family will be performed by the USAA Concert Band, Chorus, and Jazz Band under the direction of Alan Sierichs. Representing all areas of the financial services and insurance association, these employees and retirees volunteer their time and talents at San Antonio area events throughout the year. 

Concertgoer's are asked to bring blankets or lawn chairs for their listening comfort. Picnic baskets are welcomed as there are limited refreshments available for purchase. Ample parking with on-site security is available at Roosevelt Avenue and New Napier Avenue.  

Los Compadres is the official Friends' group to the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Los Compadres has raised more than four million dollars for the preservation, rehabilitation, development and education projects at the missions. USAA is a founding member of Los Compadres and has provided support to the organization since its inception in 1983. That support includes assistance from volunteers as well as financial support from USAA and The USAA Foundation.
