All Aboard! Seeking Volunteers Who Like People to Ride the Train

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is looking for people who like to travel, explore the past, meet people, and enjoy creative challenges, you! The park is currently recruiting for its Trails & Rails volunteer program, working on the Amtrak “Texas Eagle” between San Antonio and Fort Worth making presentations of the region’s natural and cultural history.

To volunteer you must be at least 18 years of age and be in good physical condition. Trails & Rails orientation and emergency operations training is mandatory. You will be required to attend one of two classes offered, one on Saturday, April 02, 2011 or the second on April 30, from 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m. For more information please call Robert Espinosa, VIP Coordinator at (210) 932-0650 extension 16; or email him at saan_volunteers@nps.gov. You can also find the park on Facebook.

Our Trails & Rails volunteers present quality programs under the guidance and training of the ranger staff. They love to meet and interact with people and have an interest in history. You are asked to sign up for at least five trips and be available to make at least three trips during the summer. Trips require two full days away from home. All meals, lodging, and a uniform will be provided. All aboard!
