Join San Antonio Missions National Historical Park for GPS with the NPS at Mission San Jose from 9:30 am-11:30 am on Saturday, August 3rd. Children and families are invited to use GPS technologies to explore and learn about the missions. Participants may arrive at any time from 9:30 am-11:30 am at the Mission San Jose Visitor Center. Pick up an activity booklet in the Visitor Center, then explore Mission San Jose using GPS coordinates. Complete the activities to earn a Junior Ranger badge. All activities are free and family-friendly.

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park preserves the most complete, geographically concentrated, and intact Spanish-colonial missions in the world. Historic mapping technologies were essential to trade and exploration at the 18th century Spanish colonial missions. Now, mapping technologies aid scientists in preserving the mission sites. GPS with the NPS is an opportunity to explore how scientists use GPS technologies to analyze and protect the history of our mission sites.

Join the National Park Service for a hands-on experience with modern mapping technologies at this historical and cultural site.

Free event parking is available at Mission San Jose, which is located at 6701 San Jose Drive, 78214 in southeast San Antonio. Visitors can also utilize the VIVA Missions Route #40 .
