Management

Russell Cave was established as a National Monument in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy. Today the park encompasses approximately 310 acres and contains a wide array of natural and cultural resources.
Management of the park and its resources is carried out by staff with various roles including: visitor and resource protection, interpretation and education, maintenance, science, and administration.
Management objectives focus on protection of park resources while providing enjoyment for all park visitors.
