News Release Date: May 19, 2014 On Friday, May 23, at 7:00 p.m. join Juraj Svajda as he introduces the movie The Wolf Mountains, a beautiful film highlighting one of the last wildernesses in the Eastern Carpathians. This film is a unique portrayal of a part of European nature that has rarely been seen. Juraj Svajda currently works as an assistant professor at Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, focused on teaching subjects related to nature conservation, including research. Previously, he served for several years as the Chief Ranger at Tatra National Park in Slovakia. In 2007, Rocky Mountain National Park officially signed a sister park agreement with Tatra National Parks in Slovakia and Poland. In 2013, Juraj competed for and was selected to receive a research fellowship with the Slovak-American Foundation. Due to the Foundation's financial support he has spent a one year fellowship at Rocky Mountain National Park. The park is hosting him as a research scholar. The film will be shown at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and is free and open to the public. |
