Work that is nearing completion
Bridge south of Zoo Tunnel
Railing and lights are being installed on the bridge and additional railings are currently being fabricated for the approaches to the bridge. Fencing and gates along the Zoo Loop Trail are being fabricated and installed. Anticipated opening date is for some time in July.
Piney Branch ParkwayPartial closures of the Piney Branch Parkway will begin on June 27th to allow for construction of the multi-use trail in this area. Additional closures will occur later in the summer of 2022 to build the 0.8 mile section of trail.
The District Department of Transportation (DDOT), in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration and National Park Service, is rehabilitating and constructing multi-use trails in Rock Creek Park from M Street NW in Georgetown to Broad Branch Road NW.
