Richmond National Battlefield Park, in cooperation with the Department of Veterans Affairs, is sponsoring a Memorial Day program to honor and remember those who have died in our nation's service—especially those soldiers and sailors from the Civil War. This annual event is scheduled for Monday, May 26, at 12:00 noon, at the Fort Harrison National Cemetery, on the Fort Harrison battlefield. The cemetery is located on the Varina Road, two miles south of Route 5 and eight miles south of Richmond.

C. Hobson Goddin, a World War Two veteran of the Pacific Theater and a retired Richmond lawyer, will speak at the cemetery. Mr. Goddin was the Vice-Chairman of the Richmond Civil War Centennial Committee and has been a popular local speaker on Civil War topics for half a century.

The public is invited to attend this free event.
