Richmond National Battlefield Park offers the fourth of its five Wednesday evening Capital History at Sunset programs for 2009. The series continues on July 22 and runs through July 29. All programs are free, and begin at 7:00 pm.

The fourth program of the series, “The Industrial Heart of the Confederacy,” will take place on Wednesday, July 22, and will meet at the Tredegar Iron Works, located at 470 Tredegar Street, in Richmond. Join park ranger Susie Sernaker on a one and a half hour tour that will make stops along Richmond’s riverfront at the Tredegar Iron Works, Browns’ Island and sites related to the James River and Kanawha Canal and the former Armory complex.

The final program of the series, the First Battle of Deep Bottom, will take place on July 29.

Those interested in attending these free programs are advised to wear walking shoes and comfortable clothing. Insect repellent is also recommended.
