NPS image Join Prince William Forest Park in celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States by hiking or bicycling 250 miles (or more) on the park’s roads and trails in the 2026 calendar year! If you're looking for an ambitious New Year's Resolution or love exploring our park, this is a perfect challenge for you. Starting January 1, 2026, keep track of the miles of trails or roads you hike and/or bicycle by downloading and recording your miles on this hiking log (or if you prefer a paper copy, stop by the visitor center to pick up a paper hiking log).
Feeling a bit less ambitious? No problem! Try becoming a Park Explorer by hiking all 37 miles of trails and gravel roads in the park. Pick up a Park Explorer Booklet at the visitor center and stamp it when you've completed all the miles on each park road or trail. Once you’ve completed hiking every trail and road in the park, bring the stamped Park Explorer Booklet into the visitor center to receive a Park Explorer certificate. Park Explorer booklets and certificates are available anytime during business hours at the Prince William Forest Park Visitor Center. If you have any questions, feel free to call the visitor center at 703-221-7181 or email us. |
