Description

Join Park Ranger Jerry Hightower for this fantastic frog filled spring evening. Young and young at heart start the evening in the shallows at the spillway looking for tadpoles and froglets and then roast marshmallows around the campfire and listen to the growing chorus of frogs. Finally discover nature after the sun sets on a leisurely guided night time walk searching the shores of Sibley Pond for frogs and whatever other nocturnal creatures might be out and about. Enjoy the evening and the cricket chorus as you experience your national park at night. The evening’s activities are very casual and informal.

There are no restroom facilities at this location.

From the bulletin board at the parking area follow the trail to the pond. We will meet at the campfire. The evening involves a very leisurely stroll around the pond.

Please remember to wear comfortable outdoor clothes. Spring evenings can be quite chilly, bring a jacket. Water and high energy snacks are a good idea. A flashlight will help you see any evening critters. A light jacket is advisable. You are welcome to come early and bring a picnic.

Note: The $5 Daily Park Pass is not required for vehicles displaying a current Annual Park Pass or an America the Beautiful Pass!
