From the South Entrance Station, continue following the road you are on for 5 miles, and it will lead you to the Visitor Center. Just before the parking areas, the road curves to the left. You can park your vehicle in one of four parking areas and find your way to the Visitor Center, in the center of the open plaza where restroom buildings, the park store, and the bicycle rental are also located. Visitor Center Hours

Spring 2024

  • April 7 - April 20: Visitor Center is open 5 days/week, 10 am to 4 pm
    [Closed Tuesday/Wednesday]
  • April 21 – May 4: Visitor Center is closed for staff training
  • May 5 – May 23: Visitor Center is open 8 am to 3 pm daily
  • When the Visitor Center is open, Grand Canyon: A Journey of Wonder, the park's 20 minute orientation film, is presented in the theater —on the hour and half-hour.

  • When the Visitor Center is closed, trip planning and hiking information is available through sidewalk signs and exhibit kiosks outside of the building.

  • On the opposite side of the plaza, the south side, the Visitor Center's Park Store is open 8 am to 7 pm daily. Here you will find:

    • Books, maps, souvenirs, and gifts.
    • Passport Stamp Station
    • Junior Ranger Books/Badges
  • On the west side of the plaza, Bright Angel Bicycle Rental and Café provides rentals and guided bicycle tours. They have a small coffee bar/café with a grab & go menu.
