Learn with Fun Activities!

During the summer, come visit the Zion Nature Center! This is a perfect place to learn about geology, animals, and the history of Zion. Take a break from the sun to explore different habitats, enjoy bird songs, listen to canyon tree frog calls, and participate in Junior Ranger programs.

The inside of the Nature Center has a variety of interactive exhibits, animal models, changing activities, and crafts. Park rangers host educational programs throughout the day. Check the park calendar for a list of upcoming programs.

Check the current hours of operations to see when the Nature Center is open. Visitors of all ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Junior Ranger Activity Booklets are available at the Nature Center as well as the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and Human History Museum.

Directions

The Zion Nature Center is located about halfway between the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and Human History Museum. You can access the Nature Center via the Pa’rus Trail or by parking in the nearby parking lots.

To reach the Nature Center by car, drive about 1/2 mile northeast from the park's South Entrance. There will be a sign for the Nature Center. Turn there and park in the designated parking lots. Limited spaces are available.

If parking is full, the Nature Center is only a 10-20 minute walk from the Zion Canyon Visitor Center. Using the Pa'rus Trail, walk about 1/4 mile northeast, at which point there will be a path that turns towards the Nature Center. Follow the signs to reach the building.

Accessibility

The Zion Nature Center is an accessible building with a paved wheelchair ramp and reserved parking spaces out front. Exhibits inside have navigable space around them with a mix of visual, tactile, and some audio elements. The ranger program area has a mix of seating options. Outdoor activities may take place on a flat, grassy lawn.

The nearby Pa'rus Trail is paved, relatively flat, and may be accessible to wheelchairs with assistance.
