Herbert Hoover Highway, a scenic motor trail, connects Iowa City and West Branch with the nearby towns of Springdale, Rochester, Tipton, and Lowden. The highway is exit 249 on Interstate 80.

In 1923, Herbert Hoover Highway Association sponsored registration of the route with the Iowa State Highway Commission. The route commemorated Herbert Hoover, humanitarian hero of the First World War.
