The North Rim developed area, including the lodge, visitor center, and campground are CLOSED until further notice because of extensive damage from the Dragon Bravo Wildfire.

Self-service gasoline and diesel fuel was available 24 hours, by debit or credit card.

The only service station within park boundaries (on the North Rim) was located just after turning onto the entrance road for the campground. The General Store and campground Laundry and Showers Building are nearby.

The information below describes normal operations —not valid when the service station and North Rim developed area are closed.

During the season, from May 15 to October 15, gasoline and diesel fuel are also available just outside the park, on State Route 67, at the North Rim Country Store (on the opposite side of the SR 67 from Kaibab Lodge and DeMotte Campground), 5.5 miles (9 km) north of the North Rim Entrance Station.

Open all year, Jacob Lake, Arizona, on State Route 67 is located 31 miles (50 km) north of the park's entrance station. Jacob Lake is the closest location with fuel, lodging, a restaurant and groceries during the off-season.

  • Between October 16, and November 30, when the North Rim of the park is open for day use only, and all visitor services have closed, fuel is still available at the North Rim Service Station by debit or credit card purchase, provided park roads are open.

  • During the winter months, the North Rim of the park and State Route 67, from Jacob Lake, Arizona, are closed to all vehicle traffic between December 1, and May 14.
