Volunteer

Volunteers-In-Parks (VIPs) are Very Important People! Explore, learn, and share your time and talent while helping us protect Anacostia Park. From assisting with trash pickups, helping with the non-native invasive plant removal, and performing park maintenance - the work our volunteers do makes a difference!

Individuals, families, and organized groups are welcome to volunteer. The time commitment for volunteer service at Anacostia Park typically consists of two-hour drop-in events, with some recurring volunteer opportunities available. Public drop-in events are held throughout the year, including for national Days of Service, and opportunities can be arranged for interested groups as well.
