(Pipestone, MN) Superintendent Jim LaRock has announced that in observance of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, the Monument visitor center will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd. The visitor center will re-open on Friday, November 24th. Open hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission to the park is $3.00 per person for age 16 and older, with a maximum charge of $5.00 per family. There is no charge for visitors who present a National Park Passport, a Golden Age Passport, a Golden Access Passport, or a Pipestone National Monument Annual Pass. The passports can be purchased at the park. The per person and family receipt for admission is good for one week from the date of purchase. For more information, please call the park at 507-825-5464.
While the visitor center may be closed, the Monument’s Circle Trail will be open for those wanting to spend the afternoon walking off the holiday meal. If you were planning on visiting the Pipestone Indian Shrine Association gift shop on November 23rd, please remember they will be following the same schedule as the Monument and will also be closed for the day.
