News Release Date: September 16, 2026
On Saturday, September 26th, volunteers can get out in the tallgrass prairie with park rangers from 9:00am – 12:00pm to help take care of this important cultural site.
Volunteers can choose between collecting native seeds that will be planted next year or removing invasive species that crowd out the native plants. No experience is needed – tools and training will be provided. Just bring sturdy shoes and dress in layers for the weather.
Gloves will be available, but feel free to bring your own as well.
Volunteers will receive a complimentary lunch at 11:30am.
